Firehouse

I have 2 things that I wanted to talk about in reguards to firehouse. A firehouse is the housing for the firemen on duty. They are there day and night while on duty. I owe my local firehouse a big thanks for their quick response not once but twice this year!!! The first time was a stove fire. I was talking to Kelsey on the phone while shopping at Sam Moon's. Not 5 minutes later, I got a call from a panicked daughter. She said that all the kids were outside and they had put the fire out and the fire department was on their way. What the heck? There was a small fire on the stove from some burned olive oil. My quick thinking kids worked together. 2 put out the fire and another one got the kids out. Ashley and I made a very quick trip home from the other side of town. Every thing was ok when we got there and the mess was cleaned up. The microwave was totaled, but that was fine since it had been broken for over a year.
The second time was a fire alarm problem that set off the fire alarms at 5a on the morning I was leaving for a few days to meet Ashley in Florida. I was running out to the car when the fire truck drove up. I really surprised the fire chief when I told him that I was leaving to catch a plane. I knew that the kids were fine. (We had checked all over the house before I left.) One of the firemen recognized Kelsey from the first time they had come over. All of this happened a few months ago, so this is a belated thanks!!!!

The second is about Firehouse Subs. They are my most favorite sandwiches. The other day, I picked Christopher up from school. We dropped by for a #5 fully loaded (without mayo). We had a great talk and then went to run a few more errands. Christopher asked if I would get some Firehouse subs and come eat lunch with him sometime soon. Wow! I didn't know that freshman thought it was still cool to hang out with mom at school. I am blessed!

way cool for the quick response by the FD! Go Them!!!!

Really awesome that your freshman wants you to come have lunch with him at school. You know how rare that is for kids his age! Says alot about your family!
